Peter Hvidt was founder and co-owner of the Hvidt & Mølgaard firm of architects. Together with his partner, Orla Mølgaard, he did pioneering work in the industrial manufacture of furniture and Danish furniture making in the 1950s. Their architectural idiom is bright, clear and simple. Their buildings are worked out down to the last detail, and they set their stamp on furnishings and interior design. Their best-known piece of furniture is the Ax Chair created for Fritz Hansen. Cooperation with LE KLINT resulted in several lamp models.
