The OW149F Colonial Stool designed by Ole Wanscher in 1959, has a simple and light appearance. While it perfectly complements the OW149 Colonial Chair, it is a beautiful object in and of itself with its outstanding finish and hand-woven cane seat.

Wanscher wished to create furniture that paid tribute to classic conservative trends but also stood the test of time. In designing the Colonial Chair, which is known today as his most famous furniture work, Wanscher combined contrasting forms and materials to create a refined and luxurious whole. The matching OW149F Footstool is the ultimate companion to the Colonial Chair offering added comfort in the same slender, yet stable design.

Fifteen years after creating the Colonial Chair and Footstool, Wanscher would design the matching Colonial Sofa and Colonial Coffee Table, creating the Colonial Series.
