The VK-1 rug was originally designed for the Danish National Bank. The building was designed by the internationally renowned Danish architect Arne Jacobsen and was inaugurated in 1978.
It was Arne Jacobsen’s wish that Vibeke Klint should design a number of rugs for building. As always, Vibeke Klint was inspired by the architecture in which her rugs should lie and her rugs for The Danish National Bank are no exception. The VK-1 rug is an example of a typical geometrical Vibeke Klint design from the 1980’s in flat-weave technique.
The rug is available in black with white horizontal and vertical stripes and red squares in two corners or in white with black horizontal and vertical stripes and orange squares in two corners. Furthermore, the design is also available in a light olive with white horizontal and vertical stripes.
VK-1 is available in 3 different sizes and 4 different colourways.
